OUR STORY

The Shelburne Muskies are one of the oldest hockey organizations in Dufferin County. Founded in 1935, the Muskies have been part of the fabric of Shelburne and the surrounding communities for generations, building a tradition of competitive, community-focused hockey that endures to this day.

Over the decades, the Muskies built a loyal fanbase and a deep connection with the people of Shelburne and Dufferin County. The team has long been a gathering point for local athletes, families, and hockey fans — bringing communities together at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex season after season.

In 2025, the Shelburne Muskies returned to Senior AA hockey as members of the Ontario Elite Hockey League (OEHL), marking an exciting new chapter in the club's long history. The return was met with tremendous community support, and the Muskies quickly re-established themselves as a competitive and passionate force on the ice.

Today, the Muskies are once again bringing high-level senior hockey to Shelburne. Under the leadership of Head Coach and President Corey Allen, the organization is committed to competitive hockey, community engagement, and growing the sport across Dufferin County.

MORE THAN JUST HOCKEY

The Shelburne Muskies are deeply committed to the community beyond the ice. The organization actively engages with local youth hockey programs, hosts community events, and supports Shelburne and Dufferin County through charitable initiatives including jersey donation nights, kids hockey clinics, and more.

The Muskies believe that a strong hockey club strengthens the entire community — and they back that belief with action both on and off the ice.

OUR LEAGUE

The Shelburne Muskies compete in the Ontario Elite Hockey League (OEHL), a Senior AA hockey league operating under the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada. Senior AA is one of the highest levels of amateur hockey for adult players in Ontario, featuring skilled, experienced athletes from across the province.

The OEHL provides a competitive and well-organized league environment for Senior AA hockey clubs across Ontario. Teams compete through regular-season play followed by playoffs, with the goal of capturing the league championship.

For the Muskies, joining the OEHL in 2025 represented a major milestone — bringing elite Senior AA hockey back to Shelburne and re-establishing the team's place at the top level of regional amateur hockey. Home games are played at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex, where fans from Shelburne and across Dufferin County fill the stands to cheer on their hometown team.
