Our History

NEARLY 90 YEARS OF TRADITION

1935

Club Founded

The Shelburne Muskies are established as one of Dufferin County's first senior hockey organizations, beginning a nearly 90-year tradition of hockey in the community.

1972 · 1982

Championship Eras

Multiple county and regional championships during the club's golden era, cementing the Muskies as one of the most decorated organizations in local hockey history.

1997–98

WOAA Senior "A" Champions

Under the leadership of coach Barry Trood, the Muskies captured the WOAA Senior "A" Championship — one of the most celebrated achievements in club history.

2023

Temporary Hiatus

The Muskies take a two-year hiatus during the transition from the WOAA to the newly formed Ontario Elite Hockey League. The community awaits their return.

2025

The Return — OEHL Expansion

In May 2025, the Ontario Elite Hockey League officially approves the Shelburne Muskies as an expansion franchise. The Muskies return to Senior AA hockey — and Dufferin County celebrates.
